blog wanderlust whimsy megan printic
3 weeks ago I stumbled upon the Printic app and thought I'd give it a go. I know there are lots of places you can order instagram prints from, but I thought I'd give this one a chance because they are from France and I adored the cute orange envelope the prints came in. (I know, these are super random reasons for picking this app, but that's how my brain works!) Anyways, I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome despite a few hiccups along the way. But more on that later!

First let me give a brief description of what this app does. Basically it takes your instagram and facebook photos and turns them into cool polaroid photos for you to enjoy. It's super easy and the prints are mailed out within a couple days of your order. If you want to customize your prints you can add type, and if you want to surprise someone they have options for you to mail them straight to your friends! How great would that be for birthdays or as a way to show a friend you were thinking of them? I think one day I'm going to mail some out to my international friends as a way to just say hi!

blog wanderlust whimsy megan printic
After playing with the app for a while, I was finally able to narrow my photo choices down to 10. The app itself is super easy to navigate and you could be done ordering your own prints in less than 5 minutes! Of course, being me, I have the worst luck of anyone I know so every time I would try to place my order the app would crash. I tried 7 times before I decided to stop being stubborn and e-mail their support team. I was AMAZED to get an email back within 10 minutes. Talk about customer service right?! A wonderful person named Cecile helped me out by pretty much resetting my account. The Printic team were even super nice and gave me 2 free credits for the hassle! What! That meant 2 free pictures! AWESOME! The moment after my account was reset it worked like a charm and bada-bing, bada-boom my prints were ordered and a confirmation for their shipping came the next day!

So I waited patiently for my prints to come because I was excited to see how they would look. I checked the mail every other day but after 2 weeks it seemed like they had got lost in translation. So again I emailed Printic's customer service and tada! There was Cecile to save the day again! (Honestly, Cecile is a superhero!) Turns out I contacted them at the perfect time because their policy waits 15 days just in case the photos show up a little later than their 3-5 day advertisement. I didn't mind waiting though because all the great customer service I had received made me have faith that my photos would find their way to me. But just to be sure, like I said before, I emailed to see what I should do. Without any hesitation Cecile confirmed with me my mailing address and said they would send a new batch of photos for free. AWESOME!

blog wanderlust whimsy megan printic
4 days later I received my prints and I couldn't be happier! They are a great size, and have a nice glossy finish. Not to mention at 99 cents per photo plus FREE delivery it's not going to break the bank.

Based on the customer service alone, I know I'll order more prints from Printic in the future! I love how they turned out and I can't wait to get them up on my wall! Here's a little bit of advice though, in my experience it's best to use instagram photos because the ones I used from facebook came out a bit blurry. I think it's because of the scaling. But like I said, if you use your instagram photos they will turn out perfect (and let's be serious, instagram photos are better suited for this type of polaroid photo anyways.)

So yes, overall I'm giving this app two thumbs up and a super high-five for Cecile!

Have you tried Printic yet? If so, what did you think?

Every year Greg's family have a ton of people over for a big barbeque and fireworks to celebrate Victoria Day. As always, there was lots of eating, drinking, sparklers and a game or two of Munchkin for good measure so I'd say it was a fantastic night! You can never go wrong with fireworks and good company!

The best part of the night was when one of the fireworks shot off into the tree and all you could hear was Greg's mom shout "It blew up my tree!" as she held up a huge branch that had fallen off!

This, ladies and gentlemen is why having your own fireworks is always more entertaining than fancy firework shows.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

blog wanderlust whimsy megan outfit what I wore disney epcot norway norge thrift
This shirt, as cheesy as it is, has so many memories attached to it. Of course the most obvious would be that I love Norway. No I've never actually been to Norway, but I frequently visited their Epcot pavilion on my days off. Mmmm, I miss Norwegian School Bread so much! (my friend Kait and I would have a date day to get these yummy desserts once a week).

Anyways, having spent so much time visiting the pavilion and making friends with the Maelstrom cast members, I can honestly say, Norwegians are high on my list of favourite people in the world. Sure they can party hard, but they are also outgoing, funny and the most loyal friends I could ever have. Many of my favourite Disney memories are a result of hanging out with Norwegians. So that is reason #1 why this shirt means so much to me. (P.S. Happy belated Constitution Day to all my Norwegian friends!)

blog wanderlust whimsy megan outfit what I wore disney epcot norway norge thrift
The second reason of course is this shirt is from Epcot which was my home away from home for over a year. Not a day goes by where I don't miss it. "Post-Disney Depression" as we like to call it, is such a hard thing to overcome when you and your friends are forced to go back to your home countries.

At Disney it was easy to call your friend up and say you'd be over in 10 minutes, however now it's like "Hey! Maybe if I can save up a ton of money I can visit you for a week before I have to go back across the ocean". It's a sad but all to familiar reality. Thankfully Epcot will always be the home that took us all in and made us a family. Without my international friends, I wouldn't be who I am today and I'm truly grateful for that. ♥

blog wanderlust whimsy megan outfit what I wore disney epcot norway norge thrift
Gosh, I'm getting teary eyed just thinking about all the amazing friends I made during my program and how insanely bad I miss them, but I digress. The last reason why I love this shirt is because of how silly it is. I mean, hello, who walks around with a I 'viking helmet' Norge shirt in the everyday world?

Disney World is different though. It has a strange sort of magic where a grown man can walk around in Disney clothing and you don't think anything of it. But once you leave the parks, it becomes socially awkward to be wearing Disney apparel if you're over the age of 9. Nevertheless, this shirt makes me happy so I'm going to continue wearing it. I especially love pairing it with red and yellow because I'm finding myself more and more attracted to this colour combination.

Fun fact: I love sewing dresses for myself, it's so much fun! Maybe I'm crazy, but there's something so exciting about walking through the fabric shop, fawning over all the pretty materials and trying to visualize what the end product will be. I actually bought this fabric 2 years ago for another project but when I came across this Cynthia Rowley pattern, I knew it was meant to be! I love the retro feel of the dress and the red and blue bubble pattern makes it so cute. I know for sure I'll be making a few more dresses in the future using this pattern. It's just so perfect! (Plus who doesn't love owning a one-of-a-kind dress?)

Oh well, one person's trash is another one's treasure, amirite? Now to break into this song! It's such a catchy cover of Thrift Shop (40s style).

The Garden by The Creepshow on Grooveshark blog wanderlust whimsy megan what I wore ootd outfit forever 21 thrift I've been spending a lot of time in the backyard lately between ripping up sod for the patio and planting flowers in our garden. It's looking a lot better though which is more than I can say for my sunburn (ouch!) Isn't it funny how I spent an entire year living in the Florida sun and I was as pale as ever, yet one day spent gardening in good 'ole Ontario and BAM insta-sunburn! Oh well, I've learned my lesson for next time! (Not really, I know I'll forget. But at least I'm being honest!) I will admit the best part of the day however is when I get to put on real clothes instead of a baggy tshirt and old shorts. Give me a dress any day over an outfit like that.
